Editorial Standards
Methodology
How Marks Electrical Files researches, verifies and presents the record — and why every claim links to a primary source.
Source hierarchy
- 01Regulatory decisions (CMA Final Infringement Notice, press releases) are the highest authority for regulatory findings.
- 02Company disclosures (RNS announcements, annual reports) are the authority for the company's own statements and financials.
- 03Companies House records are the authority for corporate identity, status, directors and filings.
- 04Attributable media reporting is used for context only and is never reproduced in full.
- 05Analysis and opinion are labelled as such and never presented as established fact.
Editorial policy
- We report regulatory findings as findings.
- We report company statements as company statements.
- We report media reports as reports.
- We distinguish fact from analysis.
- We link primary sources wherever possible.
- We correct material errors transparently.
High-risk language
Words such as "fraud", "theft", "scam", "criminal", "dishonest" and "deception" are never used to describe the Marks Electrical conduct unless an authoritative source establishes that specific characterisation. The established matter is a consumer-protection-law infringement, described as such.
Entity distinction
This site consistently distinguishes Marks Electrical Group plc (the AIM-listed holding company, No. 13509635) from Marks Electrical Limited (the operating subsidiary, No. 04463433). The Final Infringement Notice was issued against the operating subsidiary.
